What to know about NetCredit personal loans

NetCredit personal loans are available in 38 states and are best used as a last resort. Its annual percentage rates (APR) are as high as 99.99% in some states, which makes these loans extremely difficult to repay. I recommend avoiding any personal loan with an APR above 36%.

Also NetCredit doesn’t help you qualify for a lower rate, whereas several other lenders do so if you add a co-signer or secure the loan with collateral.

That being said, NetCredit does accept borrowers with bad credit and no credit history, and it can typically fund loans the day you apply. If you have bad credit, and you need money ASAP, NetCredit is a better option than a payday loan. You’ll have more time to pay back what you borrowed, and unlike a payday lender, NetCredit won’t charge any fees if you fall behind.

Regulatory action involving NetCredit

Another reason to be wary: In November 2023, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) issued a $15 million fine against NetCredit’s parent company, Enova International, Inc. The company allegedly withdrew funds from customers’ bank accounts without authorization and violated a related CFPB order from 2019. Following substantial changes within the CFPB, the bureau terminated its 2023 order against Enova International on Sept. 2, 2025, and “waived any alleged non-compliance.”

What we do like about NetCredit personal loans

  • Accepts borrowers with bad or no credit: Unlike many lenders, NetCredit has no minimum credit score or credit history requirement. That means having bad credit (a 629 score or lower) or thin credit history may not prevent you from getting this loan. Compare our picks for the best bad-credit loans.
  • No fees: NetCredit doesn’t charge fees, so you won’t be charged for missed payments or for paying off the loan early. There’s also no origination fee. Origination fees are especially common with online lenders and add significant costs to the loan, ranging from 1% to 10% of the loan amount.
  • Offers shorter repayment terms: While most lenders have repayment terms starting at two years, NetCredit’s terms start at six months. This is ideal, since the shorter the term, the less interest you’ll pay. Make sure you can afford the payment, though — a shorter term also means a higher monthly amount.

Why NetCredit may not be right for you

  • Rates are high: NetCredit’s maximum APR is nearly 100%, and unlike several other lenders, it doesn’t offer rate discounts to help lower costs. With these high rates, you may end up paying more than half of what you borrowed in interest alone. For example, a $5,000 loan repaid over two years at 60% APR would cost $3,697 in interest.
  • Reports payments to only two of the three major credit bureaus: NetCredit reports payments to Experian and TransUnion but not Equifax. This means if you make on-time payments toward a NetCredit loan, and future lenders only pull your Equifax report, they won’t see your positive payment history. Most lenders report payments to all three bureaus.
  • Does not offer large loans: NetCredit doesn’t offer loans above $10,000, which is not ideal if you need to finance a more expensive home repair or a larger emergency cost.

How much does a NetCredit loan cost?

The total cost of your NetCredit loan depends on the amount borrowed, annual percentage rate and loan term. Here is an example of how different rates affect the costs of a $5,000 loan with a three-year term. NetCredit didn’t disclose the APR range for its typical borrower, so these examples are based on its general APR range.
