The national median household income is $83,730, according to the most recent U.S. Census Bureau population survey data for 2024.
Median household income in the U.S., adjusted for inflation, grew 1.3% from 2023 when the estimated income was $82,690. The Census Bureau says this increase is not statistically different.

The state with the highest household median income is Massachusetts at $113,900, according to the 2024 U.S. Census Bureau population survey. The state with the lowest household median income is Mississippi at $55,980.
